Palm trees were planted on Jun 29 as the first step in refreshing the Flora’s Bluff entrance to the community. A design is complete for a natural landscape installation at the lower Killegray Circle near Access 31. Little green flags currently mark the spots for new plants.
To irrigate the newly landscaped areas, we’ve worked with Village Utilities and Brunswick Plumbing to re-start old water meters. The community shower at Access 29 was also repaired. Watering will be monitored by our Landscaper (Dirt Nerds) and only used to establish plants and during droughts.
We’ll see how these two installations take hold before we complete the Project. That will include a few more installations in high-visibility areas and additional plantings scattered throughout the neighborhood.
New Owners’ Meeting Slides Available
We just wrapped up two sessions of the virtual “New Owners’ Meeting” which was held to help the numerous folks who purchased in the community over the past year. The information presented was a sort of “FBKR 101” and is available on this website under the “Meetings” tab.
Hi Neighbors! This year’s planned Landscaping Project is proceeding well. Designs for updates to the community entrance and one of the Killegray beach access areas are in review with the Village.
Our beaches have expanded dramatically with the renourishment project and look amazing. Work to replace our private beach access crossovers is deferred until the sand and vegetation stabilize post-renourishment. We expect the dunes and vegetation to grow a bit so we’ll use the new configuration to better design the crossovers over and around them. This also helps us meet Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) regulations over the long term. In the meantime, we continue efforts for final contractor selection.
Hope you get a chance to enjoy your beach home soon as the weather warms up and Spring arrives on BHI!
